A apresentação - "Interactividade - Criar novas fronteiras"

cTIC2009
It was a great opportunity to present to that magnificent public some great OpenSource projects: the NUI Group, Papervision3D, the Arduino and some great works on Augmented Reality.
Even being one of the last presentations (started at 5:00 PM) in a Conference that started at 9:30 AM, I got a great public feedback in the end.
The conference was about RIA development, from the conceptual point of view, to interactivity and security, here is the link: cTIC 2009 - Novo Rumo para a Internet RIAs@pt .
It got more than 500 attendees, a great number for a small country like Portugal.
I’ll post a link for my presentation download next time, stay tuned.
Since I’ve got such a great feedback from the public and some of them were students, I’ll start posting in English and in Portuguese.

Papervision3D - Presenting it
The presentation is a compilation of tutorials from the community and information given by John Lindquist (translated to Portuguese).
Here is the presentation for you to read and download. It's huge but it has all the main objects and their explanation to help you start in the Papervision3D world.
Hope you like it.

Info here...
The best place I can advise you to go is the http://nuigroup.com/
Go there see the magnificent projects and learn how you can participate and contribute to the NUI community.
In Portugal the NUI community is very small, Miguél Queiroz, João Fernandes and me. I don’t know any one else and it will be great to have a lot more people from Portugal.
I give you a challenge, a Portuguese NUI community. Why not? Let’s join forces and ideas in Portugal and contribute to the international community.
I hope to have some feedback from you, give me a call.

First Tests Videos
I’ve been developing a Multitouch table with 60cm X 45 cm with
Here are the tests from:
The next steps will be:
Completely port the software to the LINUX environment. It will go “better, faster, longer”…. Yep everything: Touchlib, applications and the development tools. Just stay in touch.

Touchlib and Adobe Flex
I know that in the Multitouch community the majority of the developers are using Adobe Flash or C++ for their developments.
Why not using Adobe Flex?
I know… you’ve been using Adobe Flash or C++ for a lot of years, for the designer it’s a lot easier to develop using Adobe Flash, etc. but if you want to go ahead on your multitouch enterprise applications why don’t you give a try?
The SDK is free and you can develop in almost every environments (yes including Linux). See it at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flex/sdk/
For those who want to have a try in developing multitouch application in Adobe Flex here is the Multitouch Flickr Demo Application with some of my modifications.
I’ve modified the code a little to get it completely compiled in the Adobe Flex Builder. The main modification went around the definition of the variables, the extends of objects (for example the “RotatableScalable” object now extends UIComponent), the Registration point (is not in the middle but in the top left corner), etc.
I hope this will help you getting start with the Multitouch applications developed in Adobe Flex.
